Baccarat Hotel New York

Tea by crystal light

The Baccarat Hotel across from MoMA serves afternoon tea in the Grand Salon under crystal chandeliers, with the pastry as precise as the glass and the champagne poured into Baccarat.

The crystal house of Baccarat opened its first hotel in 2015 on West 53rd Street, across from the Museum of Modern Art, with a Grand Salon on the second floor that is the most photographed tea room in Manhattan: red velvet, chandeliers of Baccarat crystal, a fireplace and a bar lit through hundreds of glasses. Afternoon tea is served daily with a French-leaning tier, a choice of teas and a champagne list that is poured into the house crystal; the pastry kitchen’s macarons and tarts are among the best of the New York hotels.

The Baccarat is where New York goes to celebrate at four: book a week ahead, arrive early for a drink at the bar, and take the sofas by the fireplace.
