The Grand Salon of the Baccarat Hotel serves afternoon tea under chandeliers of Baccarat crystal, with champagne poured into the house glass and a pastry tier among the best of the New York hotels.
The salon on the second floor is red velvet, crystal and a fireplace, lit through hundreds of glasses at the bar. The tea is French-leaning: sandwiches, scones, macarons and tarts, a tea list and a champagne list poured into Baccarat. Tax and gratuity come on top.
The fireplace sofas are the request of everyone; book early in the week for a weekend.
