The Peninsula Tokyo
The Lobby, Tokyo edition
The Peninsula Tokyo brought the Hong Kong lobby tea to Hibiya in 2007, with a pastry kitchen whose seasonal teas and boutique cakes are among the most sought after in the city.
The Peninsula opened its Tokyo house opposite Hibiya Park and the Imperial Palace grounds in 2007 and installed the group’s Lobby tea on the ground floor: a long room with a pianist, a seasonal tier and the Peninsula teas. The Peninsula Boutique & Café on the same floor sells the cakes, the chocolates and the mooncakes in the autumn, and its seasonal strawberry and chestnut collections queue on weekends.
The Peninsula Tokyo tea is the ritual of Marunouchi office life: lighter than Hong Kong, more seasonal, booked out for the January to March strawberry editions.
