The Lounge, Rosewood Munich
Tea in the old state bank
The lounge of Rosewood Munich, in the former Bavarian State Bank, serves a full afternoon tea that mixes Bavarian pastry with the Rosewood tradition of London and Hong Kong, in a room that looks like a ballroom.
The lounge has the high ceilings and the rococo details of the palace next door; the tea comes on a stand with sandwiches, scones, a seasonal pastry tier that includes a Prinzregententorte of its own, and a tea list guided by the staff. The courtyard opens in summer.
The weekend tea books out; weekdays are calm.
