Butterfly Patisserie, Rosewood Hong Kong

Butterfly Patisserie on the ground floor of Rosewood Hong Kong sells the most photographed cakes in the city: small sculptural pieces from the Butterfly Room kitchen, seasonal collections and a counter open to the harbourfront promenade.

The patisserie opened with the hotel in 2019 and became the modern counter of Hong Kong: cakes built like small objects, a chestnut, a pear, a lacquered dome, in a room of marble and brass with a view to the promenade. The Butterfly Room afternoon tea upstairs uses the same kitchen; the counter sells its pieces by the piece, seasonal collections, mooncakes and the Christmas logs that sell out in November.

Butterfly is the answer to the Peninsula Boutique across the road: newer, bolder, and open to walk-ins all day.
