Rococo Chocolates
Artisan bars in blue and white
Chantal Coady founded Rococo in 1983 and made the artisan chocolate bar a London object: sea salt, cardamom, rose and violet bars in blue and white paper, and a Belgravia shop with a garden.
Rococo was the first London house to treat chocolate as an artisan product rather than a sweet: bars of fine dark chocolate flavoured with cardamom, chilli, Earl Grey, sea salt, in the house’s blue and white wrappers designed after an eighteenth-century catalogue. The Motcomb Street shop has a small garden where hot chocolate is served, and the house makes its bonbons and truffles in its own kitchen.
It is the London chocolate gift with a story, and the bars travel.
