La Maison du Chocolat
The house of the ganache
Robert Linxe founded La Maison du Chocolat in 1977 and made the fresh ganache a Paris institution; the house now sells its bonbons, éclairs and truffles from the Faubourg Saint-Honoré to New York, London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Linxe, the Basque chocolatier, opened on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and built the house on a single idea: the ganache, made fresh with cream and a short shelf life, in flavours of tea, fruit and spice. The house has boutiques in a dozen cities, a chocolate éclair that is a classic of its own, and seasonal collections designed by its chefs.
It is the safe, elegant chocolate gift in five of the guide’s cities, and the Faubourg shop is the original.
