Tarte by Cheryl Koh

One form, perfected

Tarte by Cheryl Koh at the Shaw Centre is the Singapore boutique built around one form: the tart, with a thin French shell and fruit at Southeast Asian ripeness, mango, strawberry, passion fruit, chocolate, sold whole or by the slice from a small bright shop.

Koh, Asia’s best pastry chef in 2016 and the pastry chef of Les Amis, opened the boutique the same year: a counter of tarts of the season, whole and by the slice, with a few cakes and biscuits beside them. The shell is thin and crisp, the cream supports, the fruit is the point, and the tart is the piece Singapore brings to dinner.

It is the reference boutique of the city and the calm alternative to the Orchard Road queues.
