Lysée
A gallery of pastry
Lysée in Flatiron is Eunji Lee’s two-floor boutique that looks like a gallery: pastries displayed on pedestals, a corn cake, a rice cake, a sculptural pear, and a salon upstairs, sold out by early afternoon.
The boutique opened in 2022 with a beige, gallery-like ground floor where the pieces sit on plinths under glass, and a salon upstairs with tea and plated desserts. The pieces are Korean-French: the corn mousse cake shaped like an ear of corn, a rice cake, a chestnut, a pear built like a Grolet fruit; croissants in the morning and a tea list to match.
It is the New York boutique pastry people talk about, and the corn is the piece.
