Pavillon, Baur au Lac

The Pavillon of the Baur au Lac is a glass room in the hotel’s own park by the lake, where tea and pastry are served among the trees: Zurich’s grand old afternoon.

The glass pavilion sits in the garden between the hotel and the canal, with terrace tables under the trees in summer. The tea is Swiss-classical: sandwiches, scones, a tier of confiserie pieces and truffles from the hotel’s own kitchen, a tea list with the house blends and a champagne list that is one of the deepest in the city.

The regulars take the terrace tables at four; come at three.
