The lounge of the Mandarin Oriental Savoy on the Paradeplatz serves the group’s afternoon tea in Zurich’s oldest grand hotel, rebuilt in 2024, with Sprüngli visible across the square.
The lounge looks onto the trams and the bankers of the Paradeplatz through tall windows. The tea follows the Mandarin Oriental model: sandwiches, scones, a seasonal pastry tier with a Swiss accent, and a cake counter in the lobby that sells the pieces. The tea list is international.
It is the modern tea of the city; Sprüngli across the square is the traditional one, and the two make an afternoon.
