Konditorei Rottenhöfer
The court confectioner
Rottenhöfer on the Residenzstrasse has been a Munich Konditorei since 1825 and confectioner to the Bavarian court: the Prinzregententorte since the days of the Prince Regent, Bavarian tortes, pralines and a café with the Residenz across the street.
The Konditorei sits between the Residenz and the Odeonsplatz and has made the city’s tortes for two centuries: the Prinzregententorte, the Bavarian cream cakes, the strudels, seasonal Lebkuchen and a counter of pralines. The café serves the cakes with coffee under a ceiling that has seen kings.
It is the traditional Munich Konditorei, older than the café that bears the Prince Regent’s name.
