Monaco · Rue Grimaldi, La Condamine
Maison Mullot
The Monégasque bakery
Maison Mullot on the rue Grimaldi is the boulangerie-pâtisserie of the Monégasques: the fougasse monégasque, the tarte au citron, the barbagiuans and the breads of the principality, a family house for a century.
The shop sits on the market street of La Condamine, below the Rock, and does what a French boulangerie-pâtisserie does, with the principality’s specialities added: the fougasse monégasque with orange blossom and aniseed, the lemon tart of the coast, the socca and the barbagiuans for lunch, and the classic French pastries. It is where the principality itself buys its bread.
It is the everyday Monaco of pastry, at prices the palaces do not know.
