Confiserie Honold
The Kirschstängeli house
Honold on the Rennweg has been Zurich’s other great confiserie since 1905: the Kirschstängeli, sugar-crusted kirsch sticks in chocolate, the Rehrücken, the truffles and a tea room the old town prefers to the Paradeplatz.
The family confiserie sits on the Rennweg between the station and the Lindenhof: a counter of pralines, the Kirschstängeli filled with kirsch under a sugar crust, the Rehrücken almond cake, seasonal chocolates and cakes, and a tea room where hot chocolate and the house pastries are served. It is quieter and more Zurich than Sprüngli.
The Kirschstängeli are the piece to take home; they do not leak.
