Tiffin Room, Raffles Singapore

The Tiffin Room at Raffles serves afternoon tea in two sittings under slow ceiling fans with the Peranakan sweets of the island on the stand and the Long Bar next door: the ceremony of Singapore.

The room is white, tiled and colonial, with fans, arched windows and a tiffin buffet at lunch; the tea comes on a stand with sandwiches, scones, a pastry tier that includes pineapple tarts, kueh and kaya pieces beside the French classics, and a tea list with the Raffles blends.

The second sitting is calmer; the Long Bar afterwards takes no bookings.
