The Jardin d’Hiver of the Crillon is a glass-roofed winter garden with a piano, where Matthieu Carlin’s generous French pastry is served through the afternoon on the calmest palace terms in the city.
The winter garden sits at the heart of the restored palace, stone walls, greenery, a grand piano under a glass roof. The tea stand is French and generous: sandwiches, a scone, and pastries with big fruit, caramel and a tropézienne cut like a cake. The room takes walk-ins on quiet weekdays, which no other Paris palace does.
It is the tea to take after the Concorde and before the rue Saint-Honoré.
