The bill before you book

Afternoon Tea Budget

Choose a salon, the number of guests and the champagne, and see the bill with the service charges, taxes and gratuities each city adds, plus the same tea across the cities.

Afternoon tea prices are quoted before the extras, and the extras differ by city: London adds a discretionary 12.5 to 15 percent, New York adds tax and expects a 20 percent gratuity, the Gulf and Asia add 10 percent, Paris and Vienna include everything. The budget shows the total for your party and compares the cities.

The calculator takes the guide price of the salon, adds the champagne option (none, a glass each, a bottle for the table), applies the service charge, tax and customary gratuity of the city and shows the total and the price per person. Below it, the same configuration is drawn across all twelve cities so you can see where a tea for four costs the least and the most.
